Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing our society, but these changes also bring with them significiant ethical risk.
Join Dr Joshua Krook as he explores some difficult ethical questions raised by AI, including the risks of bias and discrimination, privacy, a lack of human oversight and human rights. He will also discuss the relevance of ethical principles like transparency, accountability, and fairness, as well as the role of legal frameworks like the European AI Act, the world's first AI regulation.
About the presenter
Dr Joshua Krook is a Research Fellow in Responsible A.I. at the UKRI Trustworthy Autonomous Systems (TAS) Hub, based out of the University of Southampton. He has worked for the Australian Government, in the Tech Policy Lab, in the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources, co-authoring government reports on Digital Skills, Emerging Technologies and Blockchain.
