About the speakers

Jeremy Sun, Senior Director, at Orcadesign Consultants

Jeremy Sun is a creative and strategic thinker with a wealth of experience in both research and design. He and his talented team have been crafting phygital experiences for both consumer and professional products. Jeremy has been leading design thinking and insights-driven innovation programs for SMEs, corporates and government agencies, guiding stakeholders through the process of reframing challenges, composing compelling visions and propositions, and actualising innovations that resonate with their target audiences. In the recent decade, Jeremy has been active in elderly and wellcare research, and have guided innovators and tech entrepreneurs in creating user-centric solutions, be it product, service or spatial experience.

Khai Toh, Principal, at KTARCH

Khai is a Chicago architect based in Singapore, with over 30 years of global experience, including 25 years in the U.S. and 10 years in Singapore. His work spans urban design, architecture and interior design, covering diverse typologies such as healthcare facilities, research labs, corporate headquarters, residential projects, workplace, dementia environments, and special-needs facilities. As the founder of KTARCH PTE LTD, Khai leverages his extensive experience with global Fortune 500 companies to deliver high-level strategies and design tailored to local and regional markets, making sophisticated approaches accessible to a broader range of clients.

Gerald Teo, Senior Manager, at Sony Design Center Asia

Gerald Teo heads the Communication Design Department at Design Center Asia (DCA) in Singapore. Since joining Design Center Asia as a communication designer in 2012, Gerald has developed his career over a broad spectrum. He has handled creative and art direction for regional marketing campaigns, multi-disciplinary design for various touchpoints, and strategic research to identify global macro trends for Sony to act on. Gerald believes strongly in inclusiveness by design, and that designers have a responsibility to create output that is accessible by all.

Sachiko Nishihara, General Manager, at Sony Creative Center Sustainable Design Group

Sachiko Nishihara heads the Sustainable Design Group, which covers design for areas related to the environment and accessibility, at Sony’s Creative Center in Tokyo. Sachiko began her career with Sony in 2003 as a technical writer for instruction manuals, websites and apps, before moving on to design management in the TV and audio products category, where she oversaw design for user interfaces, packaging and marketing assets. In recent years, she has also worked as a project manager on inclusive design initiatives, as well as on advanced design development with Sony’s R&D Center. Sachiko loves the process of co-creating alongside Persons with Disabilities.

Alvin Tan, Assistant Director, Independent Living and Caregiver Support Division, at SG Enable

As Assistant Director, Independent Living and Caregiver Support Division at SG Enable, Alvin brings his strength in technology foresight to the domain of assistive technology (AT) and accessibility, seeking to infuse a fresh perspective on its adoption in Singapore. He strongly believes in the potential of technology for social good, and aims to realise this potential through his role in SG Enable. Through promoting the adoption of AT and accessibility, he seeks to empower persons with disabilities by enhancing their capabilities in technology use and creating more accessible environments, enabling them to be more engaged with the society.
