About us: Established in September 2022, Vocabella Singapore is an emerging ladies choir with a strong commitment to empower women through choral music. With a vision to promote and cultivate appreciation for diverse choral literature within Singapore’s cultural landscape, our founder Marcus Lee, is dedicated to achieving this artistic excellence together with the choir. Vocabella has participated in numerous events such as the VOICES Festival in Esplanade, guest featuring for the Seoul Kodaly Concert in 2023, as well as SingSpire: Songs from the Malay Archipelago with world-renowned composer, Ken Steven.

In January 2024, Vocabella participated in the 1st Singapore International Choral Cantat and was awarded with a Gold Medal in the Equal Voices category.

Lux et Amor, meaning "Light and Love" in Latin, perfectly captures the essence of this performance. Let the music transport you to a world of love and light as the choir serenades you with their angelic voices. Don't miss out on this unforgettable experience!

The choir is set to present the Singapore Premiere of "Lux: The Dawn From On High" by Dan Forrest. This captivating five-movement piece delves into the theme of lux (Latin for "light"), through a rich variety of texts that span from ancient liturgical chants and Scripture to contemporary secular love poetry.

In addition to this premiere, the choir is excited to showcase the World Premiere of "Sang Nila Utama," a piece specifically composed for the Vocabella Ladies Choir by the local talent Kenneth Tay.
