Tending the Fire: For tired leaders who need permission to rest.

As a former founder who burned down a successful business trying to prove my worth through work, I know what it's like to carry the weight of a mission that's bigger than you.

Now? I write by the fire in my coastal forest home, and I spend most of my time in the woods, doing work I love, and helping others find their way back to themselves. But first, I had to learn that creating space to rest, dream, and vision your future is the first step to building a career that supports life and doesn't burn you out.

Are you tired of living by everyone else's rules? Of being told to dance for your iPhone or "crush your goals" when your body is begging for rest?

As heart-led humans, we want something different. We want work that creates meaning without sacrificing our wellbeing. That builds abundance without burning us down.

Otherwise, what are we doing this for?

Sit with me by the fire (via Zoom) in a tiny patch of forest on the Willapa River, and let's dream into a different way to work.

THIS MONTH'S TOPIC:

Maybe the most radical thing you could do right now is go sit by a river, for the rest of the day.

You're tired, so let's keep this simple. This gathering? It's about stopping, for a moment, and being with.

With yourself. With others. With the fire. With everything you're trying to block out by running faster than your feet can carry you.

Being the best you can be at everything you do? It has taken you hostage. Come escape the treadmill with me and reconnect with what it feels like to be living, and breathing, in the moment.

Because that? Is the first step to the life you've been longing for, while you're busy proving yourself to everyone else.

We'll explore:

  • What driving yourself into the ground is costing you
  • How slowing down is the only way out of this exhaustion and confusion
  • Why you're terrified to do that
  • How finally listening to your body is the way to a wildly abundant life
  • How I know this because I have lived it
  • How I help others find that

We'll create space to:

  • Connect with your inner "good kid" and notice how they are still running the show
  • Understand why you run yourself so hard, and what's behind it
  • Have a conversation with your scared parts, and understand what they need
  • Remember how vibrant, alive and whole you are beyond your achievements

You'll leave with:

  • A way to listen to your body's wisdom so you can keep it healthy and whole
  • Healthy relationship with the parts of you that are afraid so you can tend to them with compassion
  • Reconnection with you inner guidance so you can make a better decision than burning it all down
  • Your healthiest, most authentic and most whole next step forward

I'll open the gathering by sharing with you my experience of healing from burnout and how, as an ICF-certified nature recovery coach I help others to do the same by reconnecting with the presence that only reconnecting with nature can bring.

We'll end with a group coaching session to help you turn your insights into action and find your own path to a more sustainable way of working and living.
