Recently, Singapore experienced an almost unprecedented incident involving our seas and shores. We had an oil spill in the harbour that has affected Sentosa and other beaches, as well as wildlife.

About 400 tonnes of fuel were accidentally released as a result of two vessels colliding in port on Friday 14th June.

While we also had a similar incident more than 20 years ago, which involved 7,000 tonnes, we are concerned as to how Singapore can recover from this unfortunate incident and prevent environmental disasters like this from happening again.

Oil slicks spread to the Southern Islands and could also be seen as far east as Changi and even as far as Johor.

This time we focus on">span> - Life Below Water. It is all about protecting and conserving the oceans, seas and marine resources, and using them in a responsible manner.

How does an oil spill like this effect our work in Singapore and ASEAN, to attain SDG 14, or any of the other 16 SDGs?

Come along to meet and discuss this and other important issues and opportunities with like-minded professionals.

Register now for $25 - plus a small service fee - and that gets you a name badge and voucher on arrival. You receive a welcome drink - wine, beer or soft drink - and servings of finger food.
