More about Rotary's investment in Climate Change:
Rotary International is 1.2 million strong global organization engaged in hundreds of projects related to humanitarian issues that align with one or more of the following areas of focus:
1. Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
2. Disease prevention and treatment
3. Water and sanitation
4. Maternal and child health
5. Basic education and literacy
6. Economic and community development and
7. Protecting the Environment
"Protecting the Environment" is a newly added area of focus in Rotary. Rotary Clubs around the world are launching and leading several global and local climate and environmental projects including a few in Singapore. The effort that is being invested right now by everyone can have an exponential impact on our planet, if we join hands and explore options of collaborating with partners like other Rotary clubs, private and government agencies as well as people in general who are environmentally conscious.
It is clear that to save the planet for our future generations from a Climate Breakdown, we need put in our best possible effort within individual and community capacities. Although the issue of Climate Change is daunting, this event is aimed at equipping the attendees with information and ideas that can help us build an earth-friendly community in Singapore who can approach the problem with a solution-based mindset.
