In this basic drawing course, Participants will learn the basic techniques of observational drawing, attempting different subject matters, so they can draw with confidence and enjoy drawing. The drawings shown here are for illustration only.

Mindset when drawing

Breaking a scene from big shapes to small shapes to tiny details.

Capturing light and dark tonal values.

Capturing texture

1 & 2 point perspective for contour drawing

Art Materials Provided: Drawing Pencils, Kneaded Eraser, Tortillon, Drawing Papers.

COURSE FEE:

$280 |$56 for seniors eligible for National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy*

*NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above.

In addition to NSA subsidy, course fee may be offset by SkillsFuture Credit (SFC).

Payment Procedure:

1) Upon registration, course participants are to make payment for the course through Brahm Centre’s Eventbrite page. This is considered as a deposit to reserve a place in the course.

2) Participants have to claim with SFC before the course start date through the SkillsFuture portal,

3) Brahm Centre will reimburse the amount that is successfully claimed upon receipt of the funds from SFC. This procedure can take up to 12 weeks from the course end date.

Notes:

  • Please note that payments for courses are non-refundable.
  • There are no make-up lessons if you miss any session and the trainer is not obligated to do a recap during the following session.
  • Brahm Centre reserves the right to replace a trainer, should the trainer be unable to conduct the class due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Photos and/or videos may be taken during activities for Brahm Centre's records and promotional purposes.

Trainer Bio

Andrew Tan is an illustrator and Eisner-nominated comic artist. Andrew works with advertising agencies and has illustrated several picture books such as Panjang: The Tall Boy Who Became Prime Minister, big books for the Ministry of Education as well as for the ongoing children’s book series, Sherlock Sam. Occasionally, he teaches at NAFA and SUTD as an adjunct lecturer. He enjoys sketching anything and everything he sees as a way to journal his life with his family.
