Practise techniques to draw Penang urban sights, travel images with a variety of pens and limited watercolour palette. Participants with sketching experience will enjoy the pace of this course.
Participants will become proficient in using pens to create various line variations, textures, shading, light and shadow effects. By delving into subjects including nature and still life participants will develop a keen eye for detail, composition, and perspective. Through this course participants will build up technical abilities, skills and imaginative expressions using pens. The drawings shown here are for illustration purpose.

VENUE: Brahm Centre @ Tampines
Art Materials are provided.
Participants to bring:
1. Containers for water
2. Cloth for cleaning the brushes
COURSE FEE:
$290 |$58 for seniors eligible for National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy*
*NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above.
In addition to NSA subsidy, course fee may be offset by SkillsFuture Credit (SFC).
Payment Procedure:
1) Upon registration, course participants are to make payment for the course through Brahm Centre’s Eventbrite page. This is considered as a deposit to reserve a place in the course.

Trainer Profile
Tia Boon Sim is an art and design educator in a local polytechnic for the past 32 years. Tia, is an Architect by training and holds a Master in Art and Design Education from the world-renowned Pratt Institute in New York City. TIA is the Founding Director of Urban Sketchers and Founder of Urban Sketchers Singapore. Her paintings were made into stamps and first day covers to commemorate the Singapore National Day in 2011. She is also the independent publisher for two books “Urban Sketchers Singapore” Volume 1 in 2011 and Volume 2 in 2015.
