Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House centers around Torvald Helmer, a bank lawyer, and his wife Nora. Nora appears to live a blissful life as a devoted wife and mother, but beneath the surface, she struggles with maintaining a facade of perfection. Unbeknownst to Torvald, Nora harbors a significant secret involving a past loan taken out to save Torvald's life. As Nora contends with the constraints of her marriage and societal expectations, her attempts to shield her husband and family from scandal grow increasingly complicated. The play delves into themes of sacrifice, the oppressive nature of traditional gender roles and filial obligations.
