Vernisáž: Pavel Dušek & ZEB ONE: SHAPE SHIFTERS

Vážení milovníci umění,

The Chemistry Gallery Vás srdečně zve na vernisáž výstavy Pavel Dušek & ZEB ONE: SHAPE SHIFTERS, která proběhne ve čtvrtek 19.září od 18 hod. na adrese Hala 40, Holešovická tržnice, Bubenské nábřeží 306, Praha 7.

Výstava potrvá od 20.9. do 31.10.2024.

Jak naznačuje název společného projektu Pavla Duška a Zeb Onea týká se jejich výstavní combo především tvarů a aktivní práce s nimi. Právě tvarosloví je totiž logickým průsečíkem jejich hlavního vizuálního zájmu. Přestože se v obou případech dá ve druhém plánu uvažovat i o určité obsahové složce, to, na čem jejich tvorba stojí především je forma. Význam jí pak může propůjčit kontext, a to zejména v takovém případě, že jsou jejich realizace umístěné ve veřejném prostoru. To je ostatně další prvek, který mají oba autoři společný. První z nich se v celoevropském měřítku pohybuje v intencích streetartových aktivit, druhý má kořeny v graffiti komunitě a také on se svými piecy stále připomíná v ulicích měst u nás i v zahraničí. Paralelně s tím se věnují galerijním projektům, přičemž obě sféry pro ně jsou – alespoň co se týče způsobu a kvality vizuálních řešení – prolínavé. Také inspirační zdroje ukotvené v modernistickém odkazu je spojují. I když Pavel Dušek rozvíjí ve své práci především architektonické principy, včetně materiálového zkoumání, zatímco Zeb One svou pozornost zaměřuje na grafický design, jinými slovy písmo, výsledkem jejich práce jsou symboly založené na zkoumání prostorových vztahů, které přímo ovlivňují vnímání, prožívání a především uvědomování si naší každodennosti. Kurátorem projektu je Radek Wohlmuth.

Pavel Dušek & ZEB ONE: SHAPE SHIFTERS

which will take place on Thursday 19th August. 2024 from 6pm to 10pm in The Chemistry Gallery, Hall 40, Holešovická tržnice, Bubenské nábřeží 306, Prague 7.

As the title of Pavel Dušek and Zeb One's joint project suggests, their exhibition combo is primarily concerned with shapes and active work with them. In fact, it is precisely morphology that is the logical intersection of their main visual interest. Although in both cases one can also consider a certain content component in the second plan, what their work is primarily based on is form. Context can then lend it meaning, especially in the case that their realisations are located in public space. This is another element that both artists have in common. The first of the two artists is active on a European scale in the field of street art, the second has roots in the graffiti community, and he is also constantly present in the streets of cities in this country and abroad with his paints. In parallel, they are engaged in gallery projects, and the two spheres are intertwined for them - at least in terms of the manner and quality of visual solutions. Also, inspirational sources rooted in the modernist legacy unite them. Although Pavel Dušek develops architectural principles in his work, including material exploration, while Zeb One focuses his attention on graphic design, in other words, writing, their work results in symbols based on the exploration of spatial relationships that directly influence the perception, experience and, above all, awareness of our everyday life. The curator of the project is Radek Wohlmuth.
