**Johathan Roy will perform at Kasárna Karlín on 26 May.**

Canadian singer Jonathan Roy grew up as a hockey player, being the son of sport legend Patrick Roy. But music played a central role in his mind: as a teenager he listened to the Backstreet Boys and John Mayer. In 2009, he debuted with the album *What I've Become*; three years later, his father helped him arrange a meeting with famed 80s singer Corey Hart, who contracted Jonathan at the Warner Music subsidiary he runs and sang a duet with him. Described by the *Montreal Gazette* as *something between Ed Sheeran, Paolo Nutini and Bob Marley's greatest hits*. Roy has since released many more albums – *Found My Way* (2010), *La route* (2011), *Mr. Optimistic Blues* (2017), *My Lullaby* (2021) and *Life Distortions* (2023)
