FALL 2024 – Opening

In this year's four festival days, DOX can offer you a programme featuring writers, artists and other interesting guests from the UK, Belgium, USA, Israel, Turkey, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and, of course, the Czech Republic. Visitors will enjoy exhibitions, readings, workshops, film, music and family programmes on board the Gulliver Airship and throughout the DOX Contemporary Art Centre.

- Max Porter: *The Death of Francis Bacon*, Music by William Valerian
- 19:30 *Portrait/Self-Portrait*, Guests: Alberto Manguel, Marek Torčík, Bianca Bellová, Dimitri Verhulst
- How do we narrate the self and the others in literature and in the visual arts? Why are we attracted to stories that are based on real events and what does it mean for writers to “have their skin in the life writing game”? What will become of the SELF in AI-written texts? How have visual self-portraits changed in the age of selfies, and is today's selfie culture just a manifestation of our self-obsessive tendencies? Questions for the guests of the FALL festival.
