Michael Roachford is an English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer from London. He has released 8 studio albums as a solo artist and as a member of the British band The Cross.
Roachford’s career began in the early 1980s when he formed The Cross, a band he co-founded with guitarist David Cross and drummer Pete Bullen. The trio released two albums, The Cross and Shove It, before disbanding in 1988. Roachford then began his solo career, releasing his debut album, Heart of the Matter, in 1989. Since then, he has released seven more albums and scored numerous hit singles, including “Cuddly Toy”, “Only to Be with You”, and “Lay Your Love on Me”.
In recent years, Roachford has continued to tour the UK and Europe, performing a mix of his classic hits and new material. He has also collaborated with many other artists, including Chaka Khan, Seal and Alison Moyet.
