Michele Stodart

Michele Stodart is a singer-songwriter from Manchester, England, best known as one-half of the UK indie pop duo The Magic Numbers. Since the band’s hiatus in 2011, Stodart has forged a successful solo career, releasing her debut album Wide-Eyed Crossing in 2014.

Stodart’s career began when she formed The Magic Numbers with her brother Romeo Stodart and two friends, Angela Gannon and Sean Gannon. The band achieved success in the mid-2000s with the release of their first two albums, The Magic Numbers and Those the Brokes, which spawned the hit singles “Love Me Like You” and “Forever Lost”.

In 2010, The Magic Numbers went on an indefinite hiatus, allowing Stodart to pursue a solo career. In 2014, she released her debut album Wide-Eyed Crossing, which showcased her more intimate and personal songwriting style. The album received critical acclaim and was followed by the release of her second album, The State of Things, in 2016.

Stodart has performed around the world, including at the SXSW festival in the US and the Glastonbury festival in the UK. Her live shows feature a mix of both solo material and reworked renditions of The Magic Numbers’ classic songs.

If you’re a fan of folk-tinged indie pop, then a Michele Stodart show is a must-see. Her unique blend of soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics will leave you captivated. Keep an eye out for her upcoming tour dates!
