Bullet for My Valentine (Rock Pop) is an English metalcore band from Bridgend, formed in 1998. The band has been a major success in the metal and hardcore scenes in Europe and North America, having released four studio albums and an EP since their formation.
Formed in 1998, the band originally started out as a quartet, with lead vocalist Matthew Tuck, guitarists Michael "Padge" Paget and Nick Crandle, and bassist Jason "Jay" James. In 2003, their debut album, The Poison, was released, which peaked at number 5 in the UK Albums Chart and was certified Gold in the UK in 2006. The album was very successful, selling more than 1 million copies worldwide.
Since then, the band has gone on to release three more studio albums, all of which have charted in the UK Top 10. They have also won multiple awards, including two Kerrang! Awards, and have played at major festivals such as Download and the Reading and Leeds Festivals.
