Bonnie Raitt is one of the most celebrated and admired female rock, pop, and blues musicians of all time. She has released a long list of critically acclaimed albums, won 10 Grammy Awards, and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Raitt was born in Burbank, California, on November 8, 1949. She started playing guitar and singing at a young age and by the time she was a teen, she was performing in local clubs. After she graduated from high school in 1967, she moved to Boston to attend Radcliffe College. While in Boston, Raitt began to make a name for herself as a blues musician, performing and collaborating with artists like Sippie Wallace, Muddy Waters, and John Lee Hooker.

In 1971, Raitt released her self-titled album and began to tour extensively. This launched her career and she went on to release a string of successful albums throughout the 70s and 80s. In 1989, she won her first Grammy Award for her album Nick of Time. Since then, she has won numerous awards and accolades, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012.

Raitt’s music is a mix of blues, rock, and pop, but her trademark sound is the soulful blues-rock style she developed. Her live shows are always a hit with fans and her concerts often sell out. She has also become a well-respected activist, using her music to speak out about environmental and social issues.
