Balancing Act is an alternative alternative rock band from Portland, Oregon. The group is composed of vocalist/guitarist Ryan Harvey, bassist/vocalist Tyler Burch, and drummer/vocalist Sam Chappell.
Since forming in 2018, Balancing Act has steadily been making a name for themselves in the Portland music scene. Their sound is a unique blend of alternative, indie, and post-punk that has earned them comparisons to acts like The Strokes, The xx, and LCD Soundsystem.
Through their live performances, Balancing Act has quickly gained a dedicated following. The band’s energetic shows feature Harvey’s dynamic guitar playing, Chappell’s powerful drumming, and Burch’s tight bass lines. Whether they’re playing their own material or covering their favorite songs, the trio always puts on an engaging and entertaining show.
The band recently released their debut EP, “Gravity”, which showcases their diverse songwriting and expansive sound. From the anthemic “Gravity” to the dreamy “Tidal Wave”, the EP highlights the group’s wide range of influences and styles.
