IFS Women's Circle: Body Image & Self Love Healing Workshop

In this women's circle, group therapy session, we'll explore our relationships with our bodies through the perspective of Internal Family Systems (IFS). During our 1.5hr together on Zoom, I'll guide you through a three practices (somatic meditation, journaling and yin yoga) to help you embody healing Self energy and connect with whichever parts of you show up in the moment. Focusing on our bodies, and how we feel towards them, is going to stir up a lot of parts. We're on this journey of discovery together.

SOMATIC MEDITATION
You'll have time to feel inside and around your body -- this is a space to be fully present. Which body part are you fixated on? You'll focus on this one body part as I guide you through a somatic meditation (that means you'll be experiencing everything inside your body rather than trying to escape or ignore the body, we're turning inward and paying close attention to the sensations we feel). You'll listen for what the body is communicating with you and I'll show you how to connect with the different parts of your personality that are showing up in relation to your chosen body part.

WRITING TO HEAL
I'll guide the group through a journal flow. We'll dig deeper through writing to find and get to know the parts of us that are desperate for attention and in need of healing. The writing will unearth hidden truths.


YIN YOGA
From here, we'll move to the yoga mat or a cozy blanket on the floor to stretch and move our bodies. Being in a different position helps you experience the body part you're focusing on from a different perspective. We'll only do one or two yoga poses during this session but we'll hold each one for a few minutes. This gives you time to settle into your body and release tension that's been rising. As we hold still, you'll be able to hear deeper messages coming through from different parts of you. You might notice that during yoga it's easier to feel love and acceptance towards your body. There is a huge different between being in the body verses just thinking about the body. On the yoga mat, we’re feeling ourselves from the inside and choosing to focus on what feels good. Self love, loving all the parts of us, is what feels best.

The combination of exercises and methods I'm introduce in this through group are a powerhouse combination of psycho-somatic therapy and ancient spiritual practices. I look forward to being in this space with you.
