Wrecked slides into summer with a party that splits the difference between out-and-out nastiness and pure bliss. In BASEMENT, Juana returns to lay it down. The DC-based selector is a true menace, a technician of fearsome craft and ruthless attitude. A longtime proponent of DIY culture, Juana’s behind the scenes community building is nearly a match for her prowess behind the decks. Few in America possess the gritty, jacking vision and unwavering command that is Juana’s bread and butter. Ron Like Hell joins her, returning to the room following a brief dip into STUDIO. A DJ whose ethos is truly, irrevocably psychedelic, Ron’s techno sets are as impactful as they are unique. No one takes you on a trip quite like Ron.
In STUDIO, modern legends take over. Tama Sumo and Lakuti are perhaps the foremost exemplars of Berlin house music. Longtime collaborators, they are icons of our modern era. Between the two of them, they’ve soundtracked enough transcendent nights to last a lifetime. Both are, of course, Panorama Bar residents, and Lakuti runs Uzuri Records - one of the finest imprints for deep, potent house. Their long-running collaboration stands as a testament to their tireless commitment to music, the ever-fresh creative wellspring of house and to each other. Ryan Smith’s approach mirrors theirs, drawing on the profound and the profane in equal measure. Smith’s elegant touch and cutting precision elevates any room he’s playing in.
