In collaboration with the Faith Sector Community Preparedness Program and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene - Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response, NYDIS hosts annual training summits for NYC religious leaders. The summits, which feature presentations and interactive discussions, will increase knowledge on disaster preparedness and crisis leadership, while connecting NYC clergy to tools, resources, and partnerships.
This Winter 2025 summit, held in partnership with Feeding America, NYC Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (NYC VOAD), NYC Mayor's Office of Faith-based and Community Partners, and the Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY), is entitled "Nourishing NYC: A Faith & Community Call to Action on Food Insecurity." The summit (in person) aims to connect with faith & community leaders to strategize around collaborative solutions to reduce food security in NYC.
Due to high levels if interest in this event and to allow the largest possible number of congregations and organization to attend, we are limited the total number of registrants for any one congregation/organization to 2 “decision maker or leadership” participants.” Please contact with any questions.
