The 10th Annual Mother Wit Conference

The 10th Annual Mother Wit Conference
19 October 2024
SATURDAY
9:30 a.m.

The ARIAH Foundation and Spirit of A Woman, LLC. provide programs and services that are designed to transform the state of affairs in reproductive health for Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC). The Mother Wit Conference is a curated event that brings this mission to light and life!

This year, we are excited to be celebrating the tenth iteration of this sacred work and powerful community convening. The theme for the 10th Annual Mother Wit Conference is, “Womb Wisdom Unbound: Celebrating A Legacy of Reproductive Love & Liberation''. This theme encompasses the transformative power that black women wield and the myriad contributions that they have made to social justice movements around the world. It also represents the revolutionary milestones that have changed the course of history and transformed the lives of black and brown people in the United States and abroad. We will gather (in-person and virtually) at SUNY Downstate - 395 Lenox Rd., Brooklyn, NY 11203, to honor some of those historical moments and the women behind them.

We recognize that the 10 years that we have been doing this sacred work have been bolstered by 3 decades of reproductive justice scholarship, activism and collaborative manifestation. It has also been nourished by the 60 year impact of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the 70 years of Brown vs the Board of Education. We will pay homage to the “womb wisdom”, courage and unshakable resolve that have been the backbone for BIPOC communities and have directly and indirectly shaped the reproductive justice landscape.

We are inviting individuals, groups and organizations to join us to amplify BIPOC voices in the reproductive justice message and movement...REGISTER TODAY!
