Winchester 49 Hailing from Castlewood, Virginia (population: 2,045) in the desolate backwoods of Southern Appalachia — a place where opportunity seldom knocks — 49 Winchester came to fruition when Gibson, his childhood best friend, Chafin, and his hometown crony, guitarist Bus Shelton, decided to step off the front porch (on Winchester Street) and take their music to whatever stage would have 'em.
49 Winchester released their new project, Leavin' This Holler, on Aug. 2 via New West Records.
The 10-song collection was produced by the band and Stewart Myers, and features appearances by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, singer-songwriter Maggie Antone, fiddler Philip Bowen, and guitarist Cole Chafin.
49 Winchester has dropped two new tracks from the forthcoming record, "Hillbilly Happy," and
"Make It Count," after previously releasing a video for the tune "Fast Asleep." They've also shared
"Yearnin' For You" and "Tulsa," which was one of the first songs written for the album in reference to both Don Williams' "Tulsa Time" as well as Kenny Rogers & The First Edition's "Tulsa Turnaround."
Leavin' This Holler follows their first project on the label, Fortune Favors the Bold, which amassed more than 150 million global streams. Captured in a handful of studios around the country during rare moments between touring schedules, the new album aims to maturely display the group's mix of rollicking country and searing rock.
"We wanted to explore every possible sound we could on this record," says lead singer/guitarist Isaac Gibson. "No stone left unturned sonically—we got it exactly where we wanted it."

Corb Lund is a Canadian country and western singer-songwriter from Taber, Alberta Canada. He has released eleven albums, three of which are certified gold. Lund tours regularly in Canada, the United States and Australia, and has received several awards in Canada and abroad.
Lund formed his country trio, the Corb Lund Band, in 1995. He turned his attention to his own band exclusively when the Smalls broke up in 2001. The band changed its name to "Corb Lund and the Hurtin' Albertans" in 2005 shortly after guitarist Grant Siemens joined the group, and has been touring and recording under that title ever since.
