Field Operations Outdoor Architecture: From the High Line and Beyond

Field Operations Outdoor Architecture: From the High Line and Beyond
30 September 2024
MONDAY
7:30 p.m.

When the High Line opened 15 years ago as the nation's first elevated park, it was a pivotal moment in landscape architecture. Join Lisa Switkin, partner at Field Operations, the landscape architects who designed the High Line, as she explores outdoor architecture, environmental adaptation, and urban revitalization post-Covid. Field Operations’ work (exhibited internationally including at the Venice Biennale) includes China’s Taopu Central Park, the Berkely Space Center, NBC Universal, and (pictured) Tongva Park, featured in Barbie. A member of the board of the Urban Design Forum, Switkin is committed to improving cities through creative design and addressing issues like social equity. A recipient of the Rome Prize, Switkin speaks about landscape architecture at such venues as the Guggenheim. A Barbie film clip (and more) will be included in this visually stunning presentation by one of the top landscape architectural firms in the world.
