Artist and League alumna Jane Rosenberg will be interviewed by New Yorker cartoonist Guy Richards Smit on the occasion of her recent publication Drawn Testimony: My Four Decades as a Courtroom Sketch Artist (Hannover Press, 2024). She will share an in-depth look at her career as a courtroom sketch artist documenting some of America’s most famous faces before the bench, including John Gotti, Woody Allen, Martha Stewart, and most recently, Donald Trump. Her new book will be available for purchase and signature.

Jane Rosenberg studied at the Art Students League throughout the 1970's. She is now a courtroom artist working for media outlets and a plein air painter in NYC. Her work is in many private and public collections as well as the Library of Congress, Museum of the Constitution, the National September 11 Museum and the Museum of Television and Radio. She is the author of Drawn Testimony, published by Harper Collins 2024.

Guy Richards Smit’s deeply observant work traverses a wide range of cultural forms to explore themes of narcissism, desire, power and failure. The artist's work combines cultural and philosophical commentary with a fascination for pop music, rock operas and comic books. Writing in The New York Times, Roberta Smith called Smit’s work: “A tour de force that showcases his considerable talents for satire, stand-up, endurance art and painting.” He has exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, The Hirshhorn Museum of Art, the Pompidou Center as well as others. In February of 2022, The New Yorker began printing the artist's cartoons.
