Tonight we meet at the cross section of house and techno with some of the finest doing it. Niyah West kicks off up top gently with some immaculate selections of heart-bursting deep house tracks transitioned butter-smooth into raging techno, percolating the rest of the night’s BPM with precision. Charging behind her is the “acid fiend” and “techno heathen” known as WTCHCRFT who constantly hypnotizes with a transfixing web of classic house and techno and heady sounds of the future. Capping off the night is a Chicago house ambassador and hero of the city, Hiroko Yamamura. Driven by a desire to create light in the dark, she spins highly emotive, euphoric sets built on classic House, Acid, techno and the sounds that shaped that classic Chicago Rave Sound. Downstairs, Vimana, the multi-disciplinary event series promoting emerging artists takes the wheel with founder/runner Venus Melissa and techno innovator Julia Gavor.
