World Storytelling Day: grown-ups and in-betweens

World Storytelling Day is a global celebration of the traditional art of oral storytelling.

This year the theme is: 'Deep Water'.

Come and be part of the fun as storytellers and musicians from the Newport Fiddle and Folk Club join with others beaming in from around the world to trade tales.

This is a hybrid event so you can join us in the room OR

Adrian Newington will be setting up the zoom room so you can join us from wherever you are in the world.

Details of the location are included in this event. We'll be in The Mechanics Hall at the Newport HUB, enter via Paine Reserve - go to the library entrance and there is a bell.

This event is for grown-ups and in-betweens.

Your host for the evening will be Dee Palanisamy ably assisted by the team and we will definitely have cake!

HOW IT WORKS

*These gatherings are informal and playful.

*We welcome storytellers, singers (with a song that tells a story) and listeners.

*We love to hear your news and listen to works in progress.

*Contributions around the 6 - 10 min mark.

*We plan for an hour plus or however long we are enjoying ourselves.

*On arrival we will create a list of participants so you know where you are or if there is only a few of us, we make it up as we go along.

We welcome companion Card and Victorian Carers Card holders, assistance dogs, Newport Hub has a bathroom with wheelchair accessible toilet with LH transfer.
