About your speakers:Carolyn Sparke KC specialises in Equity and Trusts and in Wills and Probate law. She has a wider practice in general commercial work, including superannuation disputes, property law, corporations matters, Guardianship/Administration/Power of Attorney disputes and Family Law matters which involve commercial or trust property issues. Carolyn has extensive experience as a mediator and holds a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from CIArb.
Michael Whitten KC practises in civil and commercial litigation. For more than 30 years, he has appeared in courts, tribunals and arbitrations throughout Australia and overseas. Michael specialises in all aspects of building and construction disputes including associated insurance actions.
Paul Duggan appears mainly in the Supreme Court, the County Court and VCAT (particularly its Retail Tenancies List, Domestic Building List, Real Property List and Civil Claims List) but is also available for work in the federal and interstate jurisdictions.
Nik practises in all areas of commercial and property law. He welcomes both advocacy and advice briefs. Nik has a direct and practical approach to achieve optimal commercial outcomes for clients.
Martin practises in Commercial Disputes, Professional Negligence and Defamation. Prior to coming to the Bar in 2014, Martin was a partner in the Commercial Disputes Group of Herbert Smith Freehills from 2000 onwards. He was the Practice Area Leader of that Group from 2007 until 2014.
Laurence White is a former financial regulator and is named as a Leading White Collar Criminal Law & Regulatory Investigations Barrister for Australia by Doyle's Guide. He is the author of a number of articles and case notes relating to financial regulation and is also the co-author of a book and series of articles about AI, robotics and the law.
Amanda’s principal practice areas are commercial, consumer, regulatory, insurance, retail leasing, insolvency and dispute resolution.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Amanda practiced as a solicitor for 13 years in the areas of consumer law, consumer credit law, banking and finance law, bankruptcy and corporate insolvency.
Annabelle Ballard practises in commercial law, costs, administrative law, and regulatory matters. Annabelle offers clients considered, timely and practical advice. She prides herself on clear communication and being responsive and easy to work with. She is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for clients in a timely and cost-effective manner.
