Energy In Motion: An Ecstatic Dance & Cacao Journey
Welcome to "Energy In Motion," a transformational event where ecstatic dance, cacao and emotional release converge to create an unforgettable experience. This is more than an event; it's a journey of self-discovery and expression, offering a blend of personal growth, community connection, and joyous celebration.
Emotion is energy in motion and this event is designed to facilitate emotional processing with an undercurrent of bliss. It's about inner exploration and embodied expression, all wrapped up in a lively, party-like atmosphere. Personal development can be fun, and we're here to prove it.
MARCH THEME: FEMININE
There is feminine and masculine energy in everything. Yin and yang. Shiva and Shakti.
When we tap into the essence of the energies…
Feminine = flow, cycles, receptivity, receiving, chaos, emotions, intuition, movement.
Masculine = structure, order, protection, providing, giving, thoughts, logic, stillness.
The feminine is like the water in the river, flowing along. While the masculine is like the river banks, containing and creating order for the flow of water. We cannot have one without the other, they both play an important role.
Just as a river needs both—the flowing feminine waters and the steady masculine riverbanks—we are most empowered, connected, and tapped in when we embrace both our feminine and masculine energies within.
This month, we are journeying with the energy of the feminine.
Tapping into the feminine within us all—into the energies of flow, receptivity, intuition, and movement.
Join us for a night of surrendering into the feminine and receiving the beauty it offers.
This event is both an opportunity to dance AND an invitation to transform through movement, play, and the pleasure of being fully present in your body.
SPIRITUAL COMPASS
This event is part of our 4-part Spiritual Compass series exploring polarities, which includes the themes light, dark, feminine and masculine.
Life is full of polarities, where we play on a spectrum between the two extremes.
Let us explore each end of the spectrum, some of the core energies that permeate through our existence here on earth. Let us bathe in light and explore the darkness. Get acquainted with the masculine and feminine energies that reside within all.
Dance and transform through the energies of these polarities. Using our Spiritual Compass as a transformational tool.

About your hosts:
Co-Host: Patty McDonald -
Patty is passionate about helping people open their hearts and find bliss in the full spectrum of the human experience. Chakaruna means "Bridge Person" in the Quechua language - this journey is here to provide a bridge for you into new ways of connecting with your self, with each other and with the world around you.
An experienced leader and coach, he recently doubled down on music as an even purer vehicle to deliver transformation, and spent a few weeks in Guatemala dancing with and learning from some of the world's best organic music producers such as Mose, Scott Nice, ATYYA and Melbourne's own Temple Step Project. He also was humbled to learn about Cacao plant magic whilst in Guatemala and is honoured to be holding a space for Cacao and Ecstatic Dance to be shared with our community.
Host: Shahna Sarpi -
It was love at first dance, when Shahna stepped onto an ecstatic dance dance-floor. She saw the immense power in embodied movement and authentic expression, coming home to hear body and her self and feeling the liberation that comes from allowing the energy to move through her. Since that time, she has interwoven these lessons and practices into what she does personally, but also professionally.
Now, as a Somatic Healing Expert, Shahna uses embodiment practices, somatic exercises and other healing tools and modalities to help people step into their era of freedom, fullest self expression and radiance.
Guest DJ: Briohney a.k.a DJ Lo.tess -
Lo.tess is a DJ, fusion belly dance artist, and yoga facilitator who weaves sound into an embodied art form. Her sets are a deep and visceral journey of shadow and light, power and grace, devotion and expansive energy.
Drawing inspiration from the lotus flower, Lo.tess transforms deep, dark bass into euphoric realms to create a transcendent quality in her sets.
Her multidimensional sound moves creatively between hard-hitting dubstep, trap, global bass, and psy accents and often weaves Eastern rhythms and worldly textures - creating a bold fusion that’s as ancient as it is futuristic.
Her Ecstatic Dance journeys are a potent exploration through multi-layered genres with intentionality to evoke stillness, release and expansion, that takes you beyond the surface rather into a world where music and movement become a portal to divine transcendence through dance expression.
Guest Facilitator: Emina Ashman -
At each Energy In Motion, we’re joined by a guest facilitator, bringing the magic and medicine of their wisdom to support us on our journey of transformation through embodiment. This month, Emina Ashman will be joining us and guiding us to connect with our inner feminine energy.
Emina is a poet, performer, and devotional bodyworker based in Naarm. Her work explores love, beauty, and creativity, offering insights into their transformative nature. She draws inspiration from her relationships, spiritual practice, mermaids, and mysticism. With a deep reverence for the healing power of art, Emina invites others on journeys of reflection, expression, and connection.
Emina’s artistic practice is shaped by her poetry, acting, playwriting, and dance. Her work spans from spoken word features at open-mic nights to co-created performance art pieces at conscious wellbeing events. She collaborates with music producers, theatre-makers, sound healers, and embodiment practitioners both locally and overseas.

Personal responsibility: Please make an assessment on whether you are feeling stable and resourced enough to explore the practices on offer in this event.
Centre of You has plenty of bolsters, blankets, and cushions for you to get cosy with. We recommend wearing comfortable, loose clothes to enable deep breathing and sitting/laying upon the floor with ease. A journal and an eye mask is recommended as are any familiar personal items that will aid you in feeling grounded (crystal, teddy, scarf, etc).
Arrival: Endeavour to arrive between 6:15pm - 6:30pm. To preserve the experience for all involved, doors will close at 6:45pm. Truly, it breaks our heart to have to turn latecomers away yet the disruption to the whole group experience by virtue of lateness does require management. We ask that you find understanding and consideration for the timebound nature of the container and make every effort to arrive on time.
Driving: Know Centre of You is on Chapel St and ample time to find a car spot is best to be factored into your plans. Park direct on Chapel St (spots unmetered after 5pm) or in Anchor Place, the open-air parking lot in the side street that runs opposite Centre of You (unmetered after 4pm).
Public transport - tram: Both the number 6 tram & 78 tram stop on the corner of High St/Chapel St. This is stop 31 on the number 6 tram (Moreland/Glen Iris) & stop 45 on the number 78 tram (North Richmond/Balaclava).
Public transport - train: Both Prahran & Windsor stations along the Sandringham Line will get you walking distance to Centre of You.
