Girlies for Gaza 🍉 is a series of wellness events for women in London — inspired by the concept of Sumud (صمود) and based on the belief that taking care of one’s self is essential for effective movement work.
The series focuses on the four pillars of wellbeing: rest, movement, nutrition + social connection. Each event offers a safe and welcoming space for all the wellness girlies who want to meet like-minded women and support the cause.
100% of the ticket proceeds from all events will go directly to - a grassroots organisation led by Palestinian diaspora, working to supply emergency shelter and aid to displaced families in Gaza.
Our first event: Rest + Resist will be a restorative and introductory breathwork experience designed to soothe mental tension and relieve stress in the body. This grounding class will focus on softening the breath and bringing awareness to your body. Perfect for anyone new to the practice, and wanting to feel a state of deep calm and connection.
Following the session, we will hear from Hala from the Sameer Project, and there will be plenty of time for everyone to connect + chat!
Please wear comfortable clothes. Mats, props, water and snacks will be provided.
Running late? Due to the nature of the class, we will start promptly at 6:30pm and cannot let anyone in past this time.
Fasting? There will be time (+ water and dates from ) offered to anyone wanting to break their fast in the space before the session begins.
