The Together Space 17th December Event

The Together Space 17th December Event
17 December 2023
SUNDAY
2:30 p.m.

Join us on Sunday 17th December from 2:30 - 5pm at Higham Hill Hub. The space comprises an indoor portacabin (also where toilets are located), large enclosed garden and within the garden is an open tent.

We're excited to be partnering with Pinpoint Inc and The Social Cinema on this one to bring you a sensory, gentle and immersive light show plus other activities.

Here's what to expect at the space:

OPEN TENT:

The Social Cinema present a gentle, sensory, immersive light show with shimmering moiré patterns, geometric projections and vivid liquid light effects.

Please note: we consulted with a number of stakeholders on all elements of the show to make sure we only show gentle lighting effects. There will definitely be no flashing lights. We've made a short video here with samples of what will be in the show so everyone can have an idea of what to expect. If you have any concerns or questions please get in touch with Alex: [email protected]

3:00 - 3:45pm: Winter Wonderland Interactive Storytelling with low level lighting projections.

4:00 - 5:00pm: Light Show by The Social Cinema

INDOORS (PORTACABIN - ALSO WHERE TOILETS ARE LOCATED)

Sensory Space (happening throughout the event):

Inside the portacabin, The Social Cinema will create interactive silhouette, colour and pattern making on overhead projectors whilst Creative Community Ldn take you on a sound journey with singing bowls, meditation and Yoga.

Come and experience a sound journey with Sherene from Tools To Grow

You can use this guided sound meditation to find relaxation and calm and can choose to lay or sit, to listen and feel the vibrations.

You will be guided through a journey of sounds, where healing vibrations, frequencies and sensations will weave their magic over and through you using various instruments.

GARDEN:

Make-do-Play: Make-Do Play CIC run child-led, non-judgemental community play sessions with loose parts - repurposed everyday objects which have multiple playful possibilities. Rooted in the Playwork Principles, children are free to explore the space, take risks, get as messy as they desire, build and destroy, and play in whichever ways they choose without unnecessary adult interference but alongside supportive playworkers.

As well as free play, Make-Do-Play will have a campfire and marshmallow toasting!

Café:

Whilst your children are doing these activities, you can sip on a hot drink and munch a pastry from local café Haven Coffee. Pastries made by local bakery Today Bread.

All of the above is included in your ticket price plus a free hot chocolate for children!

If your child needs more time to get used to the space and/or would benefit from arriving before others, please feel free to come a bit before the stated start time.

We look forward to welcoming you at The Together Space soon!

Love

Alex
