Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes are a legendary rock-pop group that have been entertaining audiences for more than four decades. Hailing from Asbury Park, New Jersey, the band has become synonymous with the Jersey Shore sound, a blend of rock and soul that combines the gritty energy of New York with the laid-back vibes of the beach.

The group was formed in 1974 by John Lyon, also known as Southside Johnny, and his childhood friend Steve Van Zandt, a member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. From their early days, the Asbury Jukes were known for their high-energy live shows, which often included horn sections and backup singers.

The band's breakthrough came in 1976 with the release of their debut album, "I Don't Want to Go Home," which was produced by Van Zandt and featured Springsteen on guitar and backing vocals.
