Following its critically acclaimed, sold-out run in Nottingham, Olivier winner James Graham (Dear England, Best of Enemies, This House) brings his new play Punch to the Young Vic, directed by Nottingham Playhouse's artistic director Adam Penford (A Small Family Business, Dear Evan Hansen). Based on the real-life story of Jacob Dunne as told in his book Right from Wrong, the play explores the ripple effects of one tragic, split-second decision.
When a night out turns deadly, Jacob's life is irrevocably changed by a single impulsive act of violence: a punch that ends in the death of a stranger. After serving his sentence, Jacob is left adrift, until a remarkable meeting with the victim's grieving parents forces him to confront the full weight of his actions. What follows is a deeply moving exploration of guilt, forgiveness, and the search for meaning after tragedy.
