Celebrating Our NHS

Following a triumphant run resulting in two WhatsOnStage Award nominations, Welsh playwright Tim Price's telling of the life and times of NHS founder Aneurin "Nye" Bevan returns to the stage this year! With the part of Nye reprised by the decorated Michael Sheen, the production was described by the Telegraph as "a valuable and valiant affirmation of the NHS".

What Is The Story?

Faced with his own mortality, Aneurin "Nye" Bevan embarks on a dreamlike journey through his past from his days in the coal mines of Tredegar to the halls of Parliament and his fiery clashes with Churchill, culminating in his leading the charge towards the creation of one of the pillars of modern British pride, our National Health Service. BAFTA and Emmy-nominated Michael Sheen has now been nominated for Best Performer in a Play at the upcoming WhatsOnStage awards for his role in the first run, while Sharon Small was also nominated for Best Supporting Performer.

Please note: Michael Sheen will not be performing on the following dates:
Wed 16 July, 2pm

Wed 30 July, 7.30pm
Wed 6 Aug, 2pm
