Mike & the Mechanics is a rock/pop band that has been entertaining audiences since the 1980s. Formed in 1985 by former Genesis guitarist Mike Rutherford, the group has gone through a number of lineup changes over the years but still remains a popular live act.
The band is best known for their string of hit singles in the 1980s including 'Silent Running', 'All I Need Is A Miracle' and 'The Living Years'. They also achieved success with their albums, with the self-titled debut album charting in the UK Top 10 and the follow-up 'Living Years' selling over 5 million copies.
Mike & the Mechanics have continued to tour and record new material into the 21st century and have become renowned for their exciting live sets.
