Melanie Martinez is a unique singer-songwriter hailing from Baldwin, New York. She first rose to prominence in 2012 as a contestant on the third season of the television singing competition, The Voice. Despite being eliminated early on in the competition, Melanie quickly gained a large following of fans who were drawn to her quirky style and hauntingly beautiful voice.

After The Voice, Melanie started focusing on her own music career and released her debut EP, Dollhouse, in 2014. The EP was a critical and commercial success, with its lead single, also titled "Dollhouse", charting in the top 10 of the US Alternative chart and the top 20 of the US Pop chart.
