Let’s Dance! Day of drop-in classes
Angela Rippon leads a UK-wide campaign to get everyone dancing, and Bishopsgate Institute has accepted the challenge.
Our regular dance event partners are all coming together on the same day, Saturday 1 March 2025, to offer classes, tasters and intros to dance styles including swing and lindy hop, ballroom & latin, salsa, Argentine Tango, line dances and sequence dancing.
No previous dance experience is necessary. We welcome beginners, sceptics, refuseniks, New Year resolutionists, people who have been inspired by Chris McCausland (or even Pete Wicks) and even people sheltering from the rain who wonder where the music is coming frrom.
One ticket gains you entry to any and all of the sessions by Nick Miles, Swing Patrol London, The Pink Jukebox, Queer Tango London and Queer Salsa.
Doors open st 1030 with the first session at 1100. The final session finishes at 1930. There are plenty of toilets and free drinking water, plus our cafe will be open serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and somewhere to sit down \/ rest your feet \/ get to know new friends.
A pop-up display of materials from our archives features items relating to Peggy Spencer, the Pink Jukebox, and clubbing and dance halls in London for the last 130 years.
