Damien Dempsey

Irish singer-songwriter Damien Dempsey has been making a name for himself in the world of alternative rock and pop music since he first stepped onto the scene in the mid-1990s. His unique blend of soulful vocals and acoustic guitar has earned him a devoted fan base all over the world, and his live shows are renowned for their energy, emotion and passion.

Born in Dublin in 1975, Dempsey grew up in a working-class family and was heavily influenced by his father’s love of traditional Irish music. He began playing guitar and singing at an early age and started performing in local pubs and clubs. His early singles gained him some critical acclaim and his debut album, They Don’t Teach This Shit in School, was released in 2000.
