Bloc Party have been one of the most influential rock/pop bands of their generation, blending elements of post-punk, indie rock and dance music over the course of their career. Formed in 1999 in London, England, Bloc Party consists of Kele Okereke (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Russell Lissack (lead guitar), Gordon Moakes (bass, keyboards, backing vocals) and Matt Tong (drums, backing vocals).

Since the release of their debut album Silent Alarm in 2005, Bloc Party has become a mainstay of the music scene. The album was met with widespread critical acclaim, earning a Mercury Prize nomination and producing several hit singles. Bloc Party’s subsequent albums, A Weekend In The City (2007) and Intimacy (2008), further cemented their reputation as one of the most exciting and innovative rock/pop bands of their time.

The Hives
