Becoming Regenerative Launch Event

Becoming Regenerative "B-Regen" becoming-regenerative.orgis">span>is a £1M UKRI-funded (ERSC and AHRC) research project run by the Becoming Regenerative Lab at the Institute for Creative Futures, Loughborough University London (LUL), in collaboration with University College London (UCL) and The Royal College of Art (RCA).

The B-Regen team, co-founded and co-lead by Dr. Tuukka Toivonen (LUL) and Professor Delfina Fantini von Ditmar (RCA) together with co-investigators Dr. Onya Idoko (UCL) and and Dr. Ida Telalbasic (LUL), will seek to explore how regenerative principles can be translated into innovative practices, products, and services. This event marks the beginning of a collective journey to generate design research and empirical knowledge to inspire real-world change.

The program will feature:

  • Introduction to the Project: Meet the B-Regen team (Dr Tuukka Toivonen, Professor Delfina Fantini van Ditmar, Dr Onya Idoko) as they present the aims and vision of Becoming Regenerative, providing insight into the relevance of regenerative entrepreneurship.
  • Keynote Speakers: ">span> and ,">span>, two leading voices whose pioneering work has deeply influenced the project's approach and methodology, will deliver two thought-provoking keynote sessions.
  • Panel Discussion: The panel, composed by the B-Regen team and keynote speakers, will discuss the current challenges and opportunities in implementing regenerative practices across various sectors.
  • Music performance: will">span>will introduce and perform “Onieric Olive” — a composition from biodata from an olive tree during human sleep cycles and dream reflections from participants in the Wild Alchemy Lab - Oneiric Soils Residency in October 2023. Onieric Olive has so far been played at COP28, The London ICA, Exposed Torino & The Symbiocene Summit 2024: Bioanarchy

This event is designed to spark conversations, foster collaboration, and inspire actions toward a more regenerative future. We invite designers, artists, innovators, researchers, policymakers and anyone passionate about regeneration to reserve their spot.
