A Night at the English Theatre of Hamburg: "Murder by Misadventure"

Come join us for a night at the theatre!

On Thursday, October 24, we are excited to offer special tickets to the English Theatre of Hamburg to see the witty thriller "Murder by Misadventure" by Edward Taylor and directed by Clifford Dean, one of the theatre's co-founders.

We reserved a section of seats at a discounted price of 29 EUR for members and 34 EUR for non-members (members receive a "double-discount" and non-members receive the regular Club member discount for the English Theatre).

After the performance, feel free to stay as we'll have private access to the theatre bar to mingle and discuss the play.

General Secretary Antonia Ford-Roberts, who was a theatre professional for many years in New York City, organizes an event for every English Theatre production as a way to connect the Club even more to Hamburg's excellent cultural resources. We look forward to seeing you there!

A bit about the show:

Get ready for an evening of suspense and intrigue. This British thriller combines a classic murder mystery with the humour and wit of a dark comedy. No wonder it has enthralled theatre goers for decades. Two TV writers, who have been working together for years, now loathe each other. Harold Kent has always been responsible in his work habits and personal life. He has saved and bought a luxury apartment on the Sussex coast where he now lives with his wife Emma.

Paul Riggs, on the other hand, has squandered his earnings on booze and women, and lives in constant debt. Because of Paul's recklessness, Harold wants to end the partnership. But that threatens Paul's existence who happens to know about a crime in Harold's past with which to blackmail him. Each seems to be planning to do away with the other. Or are they just testing out a new plot for their next TV murder mystery? More questions and suspense abound when the enigmatic Inspector Egan comes calling.
