Sisters' Wellbeing Day

Sisters' Wellbeing Day

The MAB Sunday Halaqa welcomes you to a very special afternoon curated with love; for sisters by sisters. We will be focusing on the theme of honouring the body Allah SWT has gifted each and every one of us by facilitating a series of sessions including:

  • Breathwork with Aisha - www.khushu.me
  • Gut Health Talk and Practical Demonstration with Abby - @nutrithrivebyabby (Instagram)
  • Guided Painting Session with Aaminah - @the_homeschoolies - Join us for an acrylic painting on canvas as we explore a scenic waterfall landscape. During the session you will learn composition, layering a scene, mark making, multiple brush techniques and different levels of shading- the painting will consist of realism and abstract art.

Complimentary tea and refreshments will be provided, including tasters by Abby.

Sisters will also have the opportunity to buy from a selection of quality homemade fermented and wellness products made by Abby (cash and card payments accepted). See menu below. Please note that not all products will be available to buy on the day as some products are made to order. If you would like to guarantee a specific item, please get in contact with Abby prior to the event via @nutrithrivebyabby (Instagram) or .

Workshop Facilitators:

Aisha: Khushu.me was founded by Aisha in 2024. Aisha is a Yoga Teacher based in Birmingham, UK. She completed her 200hrs Yoga Teacher Training under the tutelege of Mumtaz at the School of Mumtaz Yoga in 2022 and has since been running both private and community classes across Birmingham. Aisha has a particular passion for breathwork and mindfulness and began exploring the concept of mindfulness within her own religious traditions. It dawned upon her that the concept of mindfulness is an integral aspect of Muslim worship is is better known as KHUSHU. For more information visit:

Abby is an accountant who has been passionate about holistic health & wellness since having her first child 10 years ago. From home made ghee to cough syrup, she has been cultivating herbal concoctions for years and in December 2023 at the age of 39, gave up her day job to launch nutrithrivebyabby. She wants to bring gut health back into the conversation, the role it plays in optimising our immunity and protecting from diseases and most importantly the link between a healthy gut microbiome and our menstrual cycle. She is currently studying towards a nutritionist qualification alongside being an Unani tibb student, with hopes to gain a deeper understanding of how to cater gut health towards the 4 temperaments. I'm Aaminah—an art teacher, mum, and homeschooler. Art was always the one place where I could truly lose myself, free from judgment. In 2011, I earned a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, and since then, I’ve continued to develop my practice. Currently, I teach art classes for children, where we explore various artists and techniques through canvas painting, modelling, and sketching still life using different mediums. My specialty is acrylic canvas painting, with a particular focus on nature and natural objects. Through my classes, I aim to inspire creativity and self-expression in each child, helping them discover the beauty in the world around them. For more information, follow on Instagram
