About this event

Join Community Energy England and Younity for this regional community energy conference. This event is for community energy organisations, climate action groups, local authorities and any people or organisations across the Midlands region who want to help their local area to decarbonise energy and achieve net zero.

Community Energy England is excited to be partnering with Younity on this event.

It will take place in Birmingham at 10:30 AM. Venue is Millennium Point, Curzon St, Birmingham B4 7XG.

Throughout the day, there will be various engaging sessions taking place, covering a range of capacity building topics relevant to our sector. Expect interactive workshops focused on strengthening community energy groups and networking opportunities that will help you build valuable connections.

11:00 Welcome and introductions from Community Energy England and Younity

11:30 Choose one of two interactive sessions:

  • Session One: Panel Discussion and Q&A on the Political landscape - what next for community energy? Exploring next steps for the sector following the general election. Chaired by Duncan Law, Head of Policy and Advocacy at CEE.

  • Session Two: Raising Finance, Ethex

Exploring insights on advanced investor engagement strategies, including:

  • How to communicate to maintain transparency and/ or ways to maintain relationships with and trust of established investors to secure investment for future projects.
  • Best Practice - when the process has worked well - examples / case studies
  • Talk through the process - step by step what’s involved - lessons learned
  • Covering other options for finance
  • Q&A at the end

13:30 A series of 3 quick fire sessions hosted by CEE and Younity

14:30 Networking (exhibition open until 15:30)
