Youth Lagoon is the stage name of Trevor Powers, an American indie rock artist hailing from Boise, Idaho.
Powers, who grew up playing multiple instruments, first gained attention with his debut album The Year of Hibernation in 2011. The album was recorded in his bedroom and showcased his unique blend of dreamy pop melodies, haunting lyrics, and lo-fi production.
Since then, Youth Lagoon has released three more albums: Wondrous Bughouse, Savage Hills Ballroom, and, most recently, Mulberry Violence in 2018. Each album shows a different side of Powers’ artistry, with his sound evolving from bedroom pop to a more polished, experimental sound.
