Unlimited Sonic Use presents:
Ni - FR | Dur et Doux
www.ni-music.com/
Genre: Experimental Noise Metal Buffooneries
FFO : Mr Bungle meets Meshuggah meets Magma meets Botch
For anyone already familiar with Ni, the title of their fourth album is bound to raise a smile. Fol Naïs, literally "born mad" in Old French, or the appellation given to the fools and jesters of history's great rulers. This symbol of impertinence couldn't be more appropriate for this new release from the most unclassifiable of Rhône-Alpes quartets. Complex, dissonant, shaggy, it's all there. But their formidable inventiveness and unexpected danceable side make them a leader in the musical niche. Math Rock? Noise? Metal? Jazz? Ni take another step in their quest for the Holy Grail, displaying as much mischief as wrath.
Ni leaves no chance to curious newbies nor to experimented listeners.
Asthma Choir - GER | AlreadyDeadTape
Dark Experimental Avantgarde Rock
FFO: David Lynch, Mars Volta, Radiohead
Asthma Choir is the creative junction between Torsten Lang and Rafael Espinoza. They crafted their own musical language, rich with witty sounds and inundating lyrics whose becoming of waveforms make waterfalls flow upwards and children hide under the pillow. Their eclectic quartet band with bass player Maia Kennon and drummer Nichalas Barnes evokes an uneasy und dystopy-romanticizing atmosphere and confronts the listener with the hexed cinematic, yet rickety construction that their sound is.
