'Pitching your project in Germany' Workshop

It’s time for the first VC Berlin workshop, in association with self-organized film school FilmArche! This intimate 2-hour pitching workshop will be led by award-winning filmmaker Yony Leyser. He will share some of his hands-on knowledge in pitching and developing projects, what it takes to find the right partners and funding opportunities, and presenting a story effectively. The first 10 attendees who sign up will be given the opportunity to practice their 2 minute elevator pitch with feedback from Yony. The presentation will be in EN but the pitch can be in either EN or DE . You can also attend without a project and watch!

Join us on October 13th at FilmArche! Doors open at 2pm / 14.00h and the workshop will start at 3pm / 15.00h. Places are limited.

If you want to practice your pitch please fill out viewform?pli=1">span> (only space for the first 10 submissions). Get your ticket and submit your pitch before applications close on October 6th.

WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR?

This workshop is ideal if you have already made your first short or feature length documentary and are currently developing your next project. First time filmmakers are of course also welcome to attend! This workshop should help you fine-tune your approach to developing and pitching your projects in Germany.

BIO

,">span>, a writer and director hailing from Chicago and based in Berlin since 2010, is a versatile storyteller whose intimate, real, and colorful work spans documentary, commercial, theater, TV, feature film, and branded content. With an MFA in Film, Leyser brings a unique perspective to storytelling, exploring diverse topics and perspectives, particularly those related to culture, artists and the LGBTQIA+ Community. Leyser has directed and produced feature films, documentaries, docuseries, and miniseries that have received worldwide acclaim and recognition at various international festivals and platforms, such as IDFA, BFI London IFF, Hot Docs, Viennale, Slamdance, Seattle IFF, ZDF, ARTE, RTL+, and Netflix.

TRANSPARENCY IN PRICING

VC Berlin is a non-profit and Berlin organizers work as volunteers to create meaningful programs for the Berlin community. The event fee will be used to provide a small honorarium for our presenter. The remaining funds will go directly back into the Berlin community by allowing us to organize free and low-cost events in the future.
