In diesem musikalischen Workshop kultivieren wir kollektive Improvisation auf polyrhythmischer Basis. Polyrhythmen eröffnen Spannungsfelder, die einen Rahmen für gemeinsames Erleben schaffen und sich ganz individuell navigieren lassen - mit Stimme, Instrumenten, Bewegung und Tanz. Als Ausgangspunkt nehmen wir die Gesänge zentralafrikanischer Pygmäen, Ansätze der Community Music und eigene Kompositionen.
Kursleitung:
Gisbert Schürig, Diplom-Pädagoge mit den Schwerpunkten Musiktheorie, elektronische Musik und Improvisation; Erfahrung in Chorleitung an der Global Music Academy Berlin.
Jennie Zimmermann lebt als Tanz- und Bewegungspädagogin sowie darstellende Künstlerin in Berlin. Sie bietet Kurse und Workshops für Contact Improvisation, praktische Körperarbeit und erfahrbare Anatomie an.
„Wir interessieren uns seit mehreren Jahren für diese wunderbare Musik. 2013 haben wir an einem Workshop mit den Aka-Pygmäen (Groupe Ndima) aus Zentralafrika teilgenommen. Danach haben wir uns anhand von Büchern (Simha Arom, Michelle Kisliuk) und Musikaufnahmen eigenständig weitergebildet. Mit dem Angebot möchten wir die Möglichkeiten dieser Gesänge, Individualität und Miteinander polyrhythmisch zu verflechten, feiern, pflegen und weitergeben.”

This musical workshop focuses on collective improvisation based on polyrhythms. Polyrhythms create tension fields that provide a framework for shared experiences while allowing for personal navigation—through voice, instruments, movement, and dance. We will start with the songs of Central African Pygmies, approaches from Community Music, and original compositions.
Course Leaders:
Gisbert Schürig, a diploma educator specialized in music theory, electronic music, and improvisation; experienced in choir direction at the Global Music Academy Berlin.
Jennie Zimmermann, a dance and movement educator and performing artist based in Berlin, offers courses in Contact Improvisation, practical body work, and experiential anatomy.
"We have been interested in this wonderful music for several years. In 2013, we participated in a workshop with the Aka Pygmies (Groupe Ndima) from Central Africa. Since then, we have self-educated based on books (Simha Arom, Michelle Kisliuk) and music recordings. With this offering, we want to celebrate, cultivate, and share the possibilities of these songs intertwined with individuality and togetherness, polyrhythmically."
