🎵 Marzahner Concert Talks: From Bach to Modernity

Join us on March 29, 2025, and April 19, 2025, at the Jehmlich organ of the Konzerthaus Berlin, where renowned German organists Angela Metzger and Martin Schmeding will perform an exceptional repertoire. This event will showcase distinguished works by Bach and Reger, including a rare performance of Reger's monumental Variations Op. 73. Furthermore, the modern compositions of Olivier Messiaen, Claus-Steffen Mahnkopf, and Philipp Maintz will be given prominent attention.

Philipp Maintz, a Berlin resident, composed a cycle of shorter organ pieces specifically for concert hall organs at Angela Metzger's request. One of these pieces will even celebrate its world premiere on March 29.

ℹ️ Event Details

Dietmar Hiller, dramaturge at the Konzerthaus Berlin from 1984 to 2024 and responsible for organ concerts, will introduce the two artists and their programs.
