We are thrilled to invite you to our event on Youth Engagement for Responsible Data Re-Use, hosted by The Data Tank. During this event, we will share the insights from NextGenData, a multi-country action research project that engaged young people to develop frameworks for responsible data governance for improved services.

We are grateful to be joined by representatives from our implementation partner organisations:

  • Dasra (India)
  • The National Youth Council of Moldova
  • SOS Children’s Villages (Kyrgyzstan)
  • Tanzania Data Lab

Together with leading voices in data governance, collaborative data ecosystems, and youth engagement, join us to discuss how we can amplify the role of young people in responsible data re-use.

About NextGenData:

NextGenData is a multi-country action research initiative by The Data Tank, which engaged young people to reimagine how data can be used to improve service provision. We believe that while data re-use has the potential to improve youth services, it is essential to do so in line with the preferences, attitudes and opinions of young people — which requires meaningful participation and engagement.

Event Highlights:

Join us as we:

  • Launch our Youth Engagement Toolkit and share actionable recommendations to:
  • Meaningfully engage young people in decisions regarding their data
  • Amplify youth voices in shaping responsible data governance frameworks
  • Foster connections between young people and local decision-makers
  • Hear from international partners about the learnings, challenges, and outcomes of adopting youth engagement methodologies across distinct cultural contexts.

    Agenda:
  • 15:00 - 15:30: Welcoming remarks and Keynote Addresses by Catherine Vogel, Coordinator of the GIZ Data Lab and Head of the project "Big Data based Positive Deviance" and Dr Stefaan Verhulst, Co-Founder of The Data Tank.
