AI is revolutionizing climate tech approaches. It aids in tracking icebergs, mapping deforestation, improving agriculture, and boosting recycling. Ai helps us to better understand the massive problems and also to sketch out new solutions. A good example is materials science:
“AI-powered materials design will impact not only magnetics but also the entire field of materials science", says Dr Jonathan Bean, CEO and co-founder of Materials Nexus from Carbon13’s Cohort 1 of the Ventue Builder programme. Materials Nexus has recently completed the design and creation of MagNex, a new rare-earth-free permanent magnet.
In the third edition of Climate Tech and Pizza, we look at the new doors that ai is opening in climate tech, the limits that are holding back development and the significant energy costs for servers, as well as the big question of where ai actually begins and where conventional computing ends.
Oh, and there is pizza.
